Fall Family Portraits

This Past Saturday we had our fall portraits done with a wonderful photographer, Melissa!   We had our pictures done in the Fort Worth Stockyards, one of my favorite places!  The rain held off just long enough to get our pictures complete!  Pictures soon to follow!

I have to say, a child is ill or needs any procedures/labs, etc, Cooks Children's Hospital is the place to be.  They not only take excellent care of the patient, but they take care of the family as well.  We should know the results of Dixie's procedures right after the Labor Day Holiday---she did well through the procedures.  We are so happy to be home!

Summer Coming To An End

Although we love warm weather, we are happy to see that Texas is near the end of Summer!  We've had a very hot month in August, staying between 103-106 all month long.  We are ready for cooler weather!  Dixie decided to enjoy a Sponge Bob Squarepants Ice Cream Sunday night; it was melting faster than she could eat it!

Been A Long Week

Sleeping Beauty didn't want to get up to go to "school" today!  It has been a very long week for all of us and we're happy Friday is finally here. Dixie will be spending the weekend at Nana's house while Dodd and I attend my 10 year High School Reunion on Saturday and then on Sunday, we're tubing the Brazos River with our wonderful friends!  It's gonna be hot, but fun!

Audrey Turned Two

A few weekends ago my cousin's little girl Audrey turned 2.  Audrey & Dixie are 6 weeks apart, Dixie being the oldest.  The girls are very cute together and have a great time with one another.  Audrey had a Magical Birthday Party and it was a blast.  Dixie really enjoyed herself and met a lot of other little girls!   Thank You Audrey, Casey & Barker for having us up for the party!

Another Hot Summer In Texas!

We've been having 104 and 105 temps 2 1/2 weeks straight now---HOTT!  One day, Dodd and I took Dixie to Splash Station, a small water park by our house, to cool off for a bit.  Dixie LOVES to be in the water, can't say I blame her  :-)

Toddler & Chew Tablets = Mess!

So, our PCP prescribed Dixie a new sinus pill because her old one doesn't work as well anymore.  Her old medicine was liquid, the new medicine, is a chew tablet.  OK, this should be easy, I thought...I'll just tell her it's candy and she'll eat it right up!  NOOOOO, not the case.  Dixie is too smart for her own good.  After 10 minutes of trying to get her to eat the candy, we crushed it up into a spoon and covered it with whip cream, took another 15 minutes and 4 people to force her to eat it.   NOT FUN!   Needless to say, her new medicine better work really well, cause it's not going to be easy to get her to take it daily!
